Singer Nick Carter has broken his silence since the death of his younger Aaron Carter, who died on Saturday.
Nick shared a tribute to Aaron, with a slideshow of photos, showing them as children and growing up throughout the years.
Nick’s caption read:
“My heart is broken. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded. I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed. Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz. Now you can finally have the peace you could never find here on earth….I love you baby brother.”
The brothers have had a troubled an estranged relationship throughout the years. Nick got a restraining order against Aaron in 2019 and Aaron battled with depression and substance abuse.
This is not the first sibling that Nick has lost. Their sister, Leslie Carter, died from a drug overdose in 2012.
Aaron was found dead inside of his bathtub at his L.A. home.
Authorities are still waiting on a cause of death.
