NYC Attacker Who Beat Elderly Man With Bat After Argument Is Arrested

NYC- A man who was allegedly caught on video surveillance attacking an elderly man with a baseball bat has been released from jail just 24 hours after he was arrested.

Karim Azizi, 36, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with assault, attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon for the Nov. 29 attack in Harlem.

He was released Thursday after his girlfriend made his $7,500 bail, according to Fox News.

Video footage allegedly shows Azizi, dressed in all black, with his face covered following the victim until he stops and hits the 47-year-old man in the back of the head with a bat.

After the man fell to the ground, Azizi is seen kicking the victim in his face and head before fleeing.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was placed in stable condition. He suffered injuries to his head and face.

There is no motive for the attack, but police say both men did have an argument before the attack.
