NYC beaches will be closed for Memorial Day; Mayor De Blasio

NEW YORK CITY- Mayor Bill De Blasio has announced that NYC beaches will NOT be open for Memorial Day, despite Cuomo saying they were going to be open.

The Mayor announced the news on Sunday. De Blasio says that NYC is not ready for the crowds that the beaches and public transportation are going to draw. Here’s what is allowed at NYC beaches:

Swimming and walking on the shore will be allowed.

The Mayor says that if people don’t practice social distancing, beaches will probably close down.

This is another hit for New Yorkers. Honestly speaking, I do understand the severity of this stay-at-home order, but I feel that a little bit more freedom can be given to the people. This is truly devastating what we’re going through, but many can no longer stay inside their homes, especially those with mental illness and substance abuse.

It’s a matter of number’s according to the Mayor. When the number’s go down, and our lives will go back up. May that be very soon..
