BRONX, NYC- Rising drill rapper C Blu was freed on bond after accidentally shooting an NYPD officer.
The rapper, whose real name is Camrin Williams, was released from the Crossroads Juvenile Detention Facility in Brooklyn on Thursday after posting ten percent of a $200,000 bond.
The money for his bond reportedly came from a record label advance after signing with Interscope Records. $15,000 of the bail set by a judge was raised by his family to secure his bond.
Willaims accidentally shot a police officer after a scuffle when he refused to remove his hands from his pockets. Williams shot himself in the groin, which grazed the officer.
Willaims was arraigned on charges of felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He could face an attempted murder charge from a grand jury.
He was on probation at the time of the shooting for possession of a gun in 2020.
The officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
