EAST HARLEM, NYC – A man is wanted by police for allegedly raping a 10-year-old he met online.
The attack happened near Third Avenue and East 122nd Street on January 6 around 9 p.m., police.
The man allegedly met the young girl through a dating app.
The NYPD said he met the girl through the online dating app “Bumble” before meeting up with her in person. The unidentified suspect then took her to a nearby apartment, where he raped her.
He fled the scene, and the victim was treated at a local hospital.
It’s unclear how the underage girl was able to make an account, which is made only for adults and where her parents were. The app does have users verify their identity.
