QUEENS, NY- Police shut down an illegal club on Sunday morning in the Rosedale section of Queens.
According to The New York Post, police busted the “dangerously overcrowded” joint around 2:30 a.m.. They found at least 164 people with no masks.
A DJ was fined for organizing and promoting a nonessential mass gathering and two unlicensed security guards with violating COVID-19 related regulations.
Police also arrested a patron and charged him with possession of a hatchet and Marijuana.
Authorities busted the joint after spotting large groups of people coming in and out of an alleyway, unloading liquor. The club is not allowed to sell liquor and they were fined $15,000.
The owner of the venue was hit with charges for fire-code violations, sale of alcohol and illegal warehousing.
This is now the second illegal club that police have shut down in Queens.
