FLORIDA- A police officer who was caught on cellphone footage pushing a peaceful protester, has been charged.
Officer Steven Pohorence was charged on Thursday with misdemeanor battery for “intentionally touching or striking” the 19-year-old peaceful protester.
Pohorence’s charge carries a maximum sentence of up to 1 year in prison.
Pohorence was seen on cellphone footage shoving Jada Servance to the ground during a peaceful George Floyd protest on May 31st. Another officer who was African-American, can be seen yelling at him as he walked away from an angry mob.
