Police officer’s not charged in Breonna Taylor’s death; no justice

KENTUCKY- A grand jury has charged one of the officer’s involved in Breonna Taylor’s death.Former police detective Brett Hankison was charged with 3 counts of wanton endangerment in the first degree, for allegedly endangering the welfare of Taylor’s welfare, but not for her death. This is a misdemeanor charge.

Hankison was fired by the police department in June, after the death of 26-year-old Taylor, who was killed while she was sleeping on March 16, while police were serving a “no-knock” warrant at her residence.

Hankison’s termination letter from the police department stated that he “wantonly and blindly” shot 10 times into Taylor’s apartment.

Detectives believed that Taylor’s boyfriend was stashing narcotics and money in the home, but neither were found during their search. Taylor was unarmed, when she was killed by police.Taylor’s death has caused an outcry in America, and protests demanding that the officer’s who killed her be charged for her death. Unfortunately, justice wasn’t served.

Taylor was a first responder herself, as she was an EMT.

Taylor’s family recently received $12 million in settling a wrongful-death suit against the state.

Protests have began, again, calling for justice.
