GEORGIA- Two parents have been charged with murder in the death of their 4-week-old infant, police say.
According to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, Sydnei Moran Dunn, 24, and Marquis Simon Colvin, 25, brought their unresponsive infant to the the e.r. on April 13.
Hospital staff contacted police after the parents’ story of what happened weren’t consistent with the infant’s condition.
An investigation revealed that infant had four times the legal limit of alcohol, for an adult, and died as a result.
Police went to the home and found evidence of the crime and a firearm, which Colvin isn’t allowed to possess as a convicted felon.
Colvin is charged with malice murder, murder in the 2nd degree, cruelty to children in the 1st degree, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and parole violation.
Dunn is charged with malice murder, murder in the 2nd degree, cruelty to children in the 1st degree and reckless conduct.
