NEW ORLEANS- Police arrested a man in connection with the murder of rapper Charlie Whop.
Jamarin Barnes, 27, was arrested and booked into the Orleans Justice Center with second-degree murder. He was on probation at the time of his arrest for a federal crime, according to NOLA.com.
Charlie Whop, 49, known for his Bounce music, was reportedly shot on March 8 outside of a food store. The shooting was a result from an argument, police said.
It’s unclear if Charlie and the suspect knew each other.
