Police Arrest Stepmother Of Man Accused Of Killing Pregnant Teen And Boyfriend

TEXAS – Police have arrested a woman believed to be the stepmother of a man suspected of murdering a missing pregnant teen and her boyfriend with the help of his father, police said.

Christopher Ray Preciado, 19, was charged with capital murder in connection to the deaths of Savanah Soto, 18, and her boyfriend Mattew Guerra, 22. He was also charged with abuse of a corpse and with altering/destroying/concealing a human corpse.

His father, Ramón Preciado, 53, was charged with abuse of a corpse, after he allegedly helped his son in moving the bodies of the pair to another location from where they were killed.

Police have now charged Myrta Romanos, 47, the stepmother who lived with the teen and his father. She has been charged with three felonies: abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, and altering/destroying/or concealing a human corpse, police announced Wednesday at a press conference.

A tossed towel that was caught on surveillance footage had suggested a third person was involved, police said.

Soto, who was 9 months pregnant, was reported missing by her family on Dec. 23 after she failed to show up for her scheduled induction,

Authorities found Soto and her boyfriend dead inside of their missing KIA that was outside of an apartment complex.

They died from gunshot wounds.

The gun used to kill the couple belonged to Romanos.

Police believe the couple were killed in a drug-deal gone wrong, but they haven’t released any more details.
