HOUSTON- Police are searching for a man charged with allegedly killing and dismembering the body of a missing woman.
The Houston Police says Chukwuebuka Nwobodo, 28, is wanted for his connection in the killing of 24-year-old Felicia Johnson.
Nwobodo was charged with murder and tampering with evidence in Johnson’s death.
Police say Johnson was visiting Houston, Texas from her hometown of California in search of finding a job. She applied for a job at a strip club, reports KRIV-TV.
Johnson was reported missing in April after her bloody purse and cellphone were found near a park.
According to citing charging documents obtained by KRIV-TV, police say Nwobodo and Johnson first made contact on Snapchat. Johnson agreed to meet with Nwobodo in-person for $500.
Johnson was picked up from a Houston hotel by an Uber driver on the morning of April 16. She was driven to Nwobodo’s previous residence, the station reports.
Nwobodo then picked her up and drove her to his current address, where authorities believe he killed her.
According to the news station, the suspect allegedly brought a saw, trash bags, a flashlight and towels.
When police searched Nwodobo’s car, in addition to finding Johnson’s blood in his backseat, they also found a kitchen knife, gloves, and a shovel. Johnson’s blood was also found in Nwodobo’s residence.
Investigators say they found photos of a woman’s dismembered body and other dead bodies in Nwodobo’s cell phone.
He was arrested on May 13 in connection with Johnsson’s disappearance but was released on bail and is now on the run.
Johnson’s body still hasn’t been found.
