TEXAS- Police are searching for a mother after she allegedly left her two children home alone for two months, police said.
An arrest warrant has been issued by the Roman Forest Police Department for Raven Yates. She’s been charged with two counts of abandoning/endangering a child without the intent to return, police said, reports ABC News.
Yates is accused of leaving her 12-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son home alone since September.
Police said they received a call from the father of the 12-year-old on November 14 and wanted to make a report that the two children had been left home alone since September 28, according to reports.
The concerned father, who lives in California, immediately flew to Texas. He told authorities that Yates was seen in Mobile, Alabama by his former mother-in-law and Yates didn’t have her children.
He also told police that his daughter was calling him, asking him to regularly send her money for food.
According to reports, there was no food in the fridge or in the shelves.
The children are now in the care of family.
Investigators said that weeks before Yates left her children, she reported her that her 3rd child, a 14-year-old, had ran away from home.
Yates is still on the run.
