Police Shoot, Kill Suspect Wanted For Killing Former NASCAR Driver

CALIFORNIA- SWAT Police shot and killed a suspect wanted in the death of former NASCAR driver Bobby East, who was killed at a gas station Thursday, police said.

The SWAT team “responded to serve a search/arrest warrant for the suspect”, identified as Trent Wiliam Millsap, at an apartment, according to the Westminster Police Department.

During the service of the warrant, “an officer involved shooting took place”, the department said Friday. Police said, “there were “no officers injured, “however, a police K-9 sustained a single gunshot wound that was not life-threatening.”

Millsap had an outstanding parole warrant and was described as armed and dangerous.

He’s accused of fatally stabbing NASCAR driver Bobby East at a gas station. East, 27, was found police with a “serious chest wound” at the scene. He was taken to a hospital where he died.

When East was 16 years old, he was the youngest racer at the time to win a USAC national feature event. He also won at the 2012 Sumar Classic Terre Haute.
