CALIFORNIA- The body of an aspiring rapper who washed up on a Malibu beach is linked to the murder of Drill rapper Pop Smoke.
The body of Javonnta Murphy, the brother of Jaquan Murphy, a suspect in the murder of Pop Smoke, was found dead and naked inside of a 50-pound barrel this past week, TMZ reports.
Jaquan was one of five men charged with attempted murder in the 2020 death of Pop Smoke who was killed in California, but he was cleared, the outlet reports.
Jaquan is currently waiting trial for another murder.
Authorities are investigating the possibility that Javonnta’s murder was revenge for Pop Smoke’s murder.
Pop Smoke, 20, was shot and killed in Feb. 2020 during a robbery in a Hollywood Hills home.
