‘Power’ crew member killed by car while working on set; cast members react to his death

A ‘Power’ crew member was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday morning as he was setting up parking cones on set according to NYPD.

63 year old Pedro Jimenez was a production assistant for the ‘Power’ series show.

It’s being reported by authorities that Jimenez was setting up parking cones in Brooklyn’s Boerum Hill neighborhood, when a 2016 For Explorer struck him at around 4:20 a.m.. Jimenez was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Starz temporarily shut down production for the show after his death.

The person behind the vehicle that struck him was a 63 year old man, who stood on the scene.

It;s been reported by none of the cast members where on set.

Starz released a statement regarding his death saying “We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of the members of our Power family,” the spokesperson told Deadline on Monday. “Our thoughts are with Mr. Jimenez’ family as we work to fully understand what has happened.”

Omari Hardwick, who plays the main character “Ghost” has just taken to his Instagram to express his sadness for the death of Jimenez, who had worked with the show since 2014.

The show is based on a character named “Ghost who lives a double life as a club owner & drug kingpin.

The show is produced by rapper/actor 50 Cent.
