PHILADELPHIA- A pregnant woman was shot and killed as she was leaving her own baby shower on Saturday, police say.
The unidentified 32-year-old victim was shot multiple times in the head and her belly at around 8:30 p.m. as she unloaded gifts from the baby shower to bring into her home, reports ABC 6.
An officer heard gunshots and rushed to the scene. The 7-month-old pregnant woman was found with gunshot wounds and rushed to a hospital where both she and her unborn baby died, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Police believe the victim was the intended target and there is an ongoing investigation.
