CHICAGO- 52-year-old singer R. Kelly’s request to be freed from jail has been denied by a judge.
Judge Anne Donnelly ruled on Tuesday that the singer must remain in custody at the Metropolitan Correctional in Illinois.
Kelly made the request after the Coronavirus began to spread inside the jails and prisons. He wants out because he feels that he’s going to contract the deadly virus.
Kelly’s plans according to TMZ, are to move in with his former girlfriend Jocelyn Savage, and he’s willing to be electronically monitored while on house confinement. I’m not sure about him moving in Jocelyn, but ok..
He doesn’t have COVID-19, but rapper YNW Melly did just test positive for the virus while in jail for a double-murder case, and he is now literally begging the state to have him released because he says he’s “dying.”
The singer is facing child pornography, sexual assault charges and more. These charges are from Chicago only. He still faces more charges in New York that range from racketeering to illegal sexual activity.
