R. Kelly arrested on federal child pornography, obstruction of justice charges

CHICAGO- R. Kelly was arrested on Thursday.

Singer R. Kelly was arrested on two new federal indictments in Illinois and New York on Thursday night. Prosecutors are saying that the singer allegedly paid several hundred dollars to recover videotapes of himself engaging in sexual acts with minors.

He also allegedly steered witnesses to make false testimonies at his 2008 trail where he was acquitted of child pornoography charges.

The singer was indicted by a federal jury on 13 counts of child pornography, obstruction of justice and enticement of a minor to engage in criminal activity.

The indictment that was filed against him in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois is alleging that Kelly coerced a girl who was 12 0r 13- years-old in 1998 & 1999 into performing sexual acts for the purpose of filming it. There were allegedly four seperate videos.

Prosecutors also allege that between 1998 & 2002, Kelly had sexual acts with the minor from 98′ & 99′, along with four other minors.

The grammy award winning singer was arrested at about 7pm on Thursday as he was walking his dog near his home at the Trump Tower in Chicago.

His publicist plans to hold a press conference on Friday.

The singer was also charged with 11 counts of sexual assault back in May.
