Rapper Fetty Wap was arrested Monday for allegedly violating the conditions of his pretrial release after allegedly issuing a threat to kill someone while waving a gun, prosecutors said.
The rapper, whose real name is William Junior Maxwel II, was arrested in New Jersey after he allegedly made the threat over a FaceTime call, prosecutors said, according to local reports.
At the federal court hearing on Long Island, a judge revoked Maxwell’s $500,000 bond on Monday at the request of prosecutors, reports NBC News.
A recording of the FaceTime call was reviewed by investigators, where Fetty is accused of threatening to kill the victim as he waved a gun in a call he allegedly made on Dec. 11, 2021.
Possessing a firearm and violating any law are in direct violation of his pretrial release.
The ‘Trap Queen’ rapper was arrested at Citi Field on Oct. 28 after an indictment alleged that he and six others, including a correction officer, were part of a nationwide drug trafficking ring.
The drug ring allegedly moved more than 100 kilos of heroin, cocaine, fentanyl and crack.
As part of Fetty’s release, he was subjected to GPS monitoring, random drug testing and he had to surrender his passport.
The rapper has had many troubles, with his brother being killed last year and the death of his 4-year-old daughter, who died earlier this summer.
