Rapper Foogiano, who was performing at The Lavish Lounge on July 5th when a deadly shooting erupted, has issued an apology and he says it’s not his fault.
The shooting happened at The Lavish Lounge on on July 5th, killing 2 people and injuring 8.
According to police, they were eyeing the rapper’s crew for their possible connection to the shooting.Police are hearing several different stories, one being that Foogiano had his chain snatched, and that his crew allegedly retaliated.
Foogiano posted a video on Instagram, where he tells people “That… ain’t my fault. I don’t promote violence”.
Foogiano, whose real name is Kwame Brown, hasn’t been interviewed. He’s also claiming he wasn’t there, saying in his video, “I stayed in South Carolina the same night.”
His video was titled after one of the victims who died, 23-year-old Mykala Bell, who was a mother of 2. The other victim that was shot and killed was 51-year-old Clarence Sterling Johnson, a security guard that was armed with a gun, but didn’t have the chance to use it.
Police released photos of the suspects.
