Rapper Kodak Black Charged With Possession Of Oxycodone, Not Cocaine, Prosecutors Say

FLORIDA – Rapper Kodak Black was attempting to hide Oxycodone and not cocaine when he stuffed a white powder in his mouth after being pulled over and arrested last month, prosecutors said.

The Broward State Attorney’s Office filed information Monday, charging Kodak, whose real name is Bill Kapri, with one count of possession of oxycodone and one count of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

His attorney is arguing that he has a prescription for the oxycodone.

Kodak Black was initially arrested on possession of cocaine charges on Dec. 7 after a police officer found him asleep behind the wheel of his Bentley SUV that was blocking the road. An officer smelled a strong odor and alcohol.

When another officer arrived at the scene, Kodak was found with a powder substance in his mouth.

Police said the powder tested positive for cocaine and the rapper was arrested.

He’s currently being held in federal custody.
