Rapper Lil Peep’s former management team says his death was “self-inflicted” in response to a lawsuit brought to them by his mother.
Lil Peep’s mother, Liza Womack, sued her son’s managers, First Access Entertainment back in Oct. The wrongful death lawsuit is alleging that his management team supplied him with drugs, up until he died.
Court documents state Lil Peep was allegedly forced to perform “onto stage after stage in city after city, plying and propping.”
The Blast also obtained court documents, and the late rapper’s managers said that they can’t be blamed for Lil Peep’s overdose.
First Access responded to the lawsuit in a statement, which reads “Mr. Ahr was an adult. He chose to take the drugs that killed him. Arm’s length business associates should not be strapped with a duty to protect each other from self-inflicted harm.”
Lil Peep, whose real name is Gustav Elijah Åhr, died at 21-years-old on November 15, 2017, after an accidental overdose of Xanaz and fentanyl.
His dealer was arrested.
