Rapper Lil Uzi Vert is being accused of plagiarizing a Korean illustrators artwork for his new single “I Want It That Way”.
According to illustrator Tae Tae, he says that Lil Uzi used his artwork without his permission and he’s pursuing legal action.
The artist took to his Instagram to compare his illustration to Lil Uzi’s artwork, with a caption that read:
“I am very upset that I have to write such an article.
I saw lil uzi vert’s latest album cover art and it was very similar to my painting.
My picture was posted on my blog six years ago, and it is possible to use it for profile pictures or non-commercial purposes, but it is not allowed to use anything else.
Now I’m very embarrassed and don’t want to let this go.”

Tae Tae’s artwork is from 6 years ago.
As you can see for yourself, the artwork for his single is very similar to Tae Tae’s illustration, except for the fact that the woman shown on the illustration was obviously replaced by his image and some of the coloring is different.
Tae Tae was quoted as saying by OSEN, on Monday saying “I had contacted the illustrator who made the album’s cover art for Uzi. But he said he was also told to do so by Uzi. He also claims that he cannot reach out to Uzi as well … So I am looking for a lawyer who can help me to tackle the situation.”
Yikes..
Uzi is about to get sued..
