PHILADELPHIA- Rapper Meek Mill was pardoned by Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf, the rapper revealed on social media Thursday night.
Meek, whose real name is Robert Rihmeek Williams, was convicted on drug and weapons charges.
He was later put on probation which he violated, causing him to serve time in prison.
He was released after a ruling from Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
In August 2019, Meek and prosecutors reached a plea agreement that included no further punishment.
Meek has now become a voice for criminal justice reform, and for the youth in Philadelphia.
Wolf granted 369 pardons in his final week as Governor, which is a total of 2,540 pardons granted.
