Rapper Mystikal’s Rape Trial Delayed, Remains In Jail Without Bail

Rapper Mystikal’s rape trial has been delayed, according to a report.

The New Orleans rapper’s trial won’t be held next month, and he remains in jail as of Tuesday, according to NOLA.

A new defense attorney for the rapper asked a state district judge last week to continue on with Mystikal’s jury trial that was set to take place on June 21, reports NOLA.

Attorney Tiffany Myles Crosby asked for the trial to continue without a new trial.

The attorney asked the judge for more time in order “to provide efficient representation.”

Mystikal, whose real name is Michael Lawrence Tyler, is accused of raping a woman in his home back in July.

He pleaded not guilty to first-degree rape, false imprisonment, robbery and other charges. If convicted of rape, he could face up to life in prison.
