Rapper Pooh Shiesty to plead guilty in armed-robbery case

FLORIDA- Rapper Pooh Shiesty will be pleading guilty for his role in an armed robbery.

The rapper, whose real name is Lontrell Williams, and his co-defendant appeared at a hearing on Thursday in U.S. District Court in Miami, reports the Commercial Appeal Memphis.

Both men “stated in court that they both wish to change their plea from not guilty to guilty,”, according to Court Docs obtained by the Commercial Appeal Memphis. Docs also state the hearing lasted only five minutes.

The agreement means that there will not be a jury trial, which was set to take place on Monday.

Pooh Shiesty may face a maximum sentence of life in prison, if he’s convicted of using a firearm “in furtherance of another federal crime of violence.”

As I wrote before, the Chicago rapper was arrested in June for his alleged role in an armed robbery in Oct. of last year.

Pooh Shiesty and his co-defendant allegedly met up with a man who was selling high-end sneakers in front of a hotel.

The ‘Back In Blood” rapper allegedly shot the man in his buttocks, and both suspects fled off in his McLaren, with the sneakers, marijuana and liquid codeine.
