DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – Rapper Tekashi69 appeared in court after he was arrested for allegedly assaulting and threatening to kill two of Diamond La Mafia’s music producers over his girlfriend.
The rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was arrested on Oct. 16 in Dominican Republic for allegedly beating Christian Anthony Rojas and Nelson Alfonso Hilario Garcia, who were working with 6ix9ine’s girlfriend, Yailin La Mas Viral.
Tekashi attempted to flee the country in a private jet, after the alleged assault but the jet company refused to take off after they were alerted by police.
The producers were reportedly unconscious for almost 40 minutes.
Tekashi was recently released from jail to appear for a court hearing, where the victims appeared to be in bandages, with one wearing a neck brace, according to local news.
He was charged with violating articles in the Dominica penal code alleging he committed acts of torture, barbarism and attempted homicide.
On Wednesday, the Brooklyn rapper spoke about the incident for the first time with the Alofoke radio show. He apologized to the producers and said that he didn’t come to the studio to intentionally fight them.
When asked if the victims are exaggerating their injuries due to the rapper’s fame and wealth, he replied “Yes.”
His girlfriend was also asked why she didn’t appear in court for Tekashi’s hearing to support him and she said he didn’t want her there.
Tekashi must stay in D.R. for the next several months.
