Rapper Trae Tha Truth Appears In Court For Assault Charges

HOUSTON- Rapper and philanthropist Trae Tha Truth appeared in court Friday to face assault charges.

The rapper, whose real name is Frazier Othel Thompson, is accused of assaulting rapper Z-Ro outside of a Houston restaurant.

Z-Ro, whose real name is Joseph McVey, reportedly told police about the incident days later, as I wrote before, but he never reportedly filed a police report.

Trae has been ordered to not make contact with McVey, and he is set to appear in court on March 19, according to ABC13 Houston.

Z-Ro told police that as he was signing autographs for fans outside of the restaurant when Trae asked to speak to him privately. Z-Lo said that’s when Trae allegedly punched him in the face.

Z-Ro claims that other men jumped in and stole his sunglasses and bracelet. His items were returned to him after the incident.

The alleged brawl was caught on cellphone footage.

Two other men have been charged in connection with the alleged assault. Johnathan Steen, 36, was charged with assault causing bodily injury and Dewayne Buggs, 32, is charged with robbery, according to The Houston Chronicle.
