FLORIDA- Rapper YNW Melly appeared in a Broward County courtroom on Friday to learn his new double-murder trial date.
The 24-year-old rapper appeared in a jumpsuit and with shackles ass he went before a judge to for a brief hearing, where the judge decided that his trial will be back by a week, according to NBC Miami.
Jury selection, which was set to happen on Oct. 2, will now be on Oct. 8.
YNW Melly, whose real name is Jamell Demons, is accused of killing his two best friends after leaving a studio session with rapper Fredo Bang.
Prosecutors believe Melly fatally shot Thomas and Williams as part of a gang action. Both were part of the YNW collective as YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser.
The driver, YNW Bortlen, whose legal name is Cortland Henry, was charged as an accomplice in the case but will be tried separately.
The initial double murder trial ended in a mistrial on July 22 when jurors were deadlocked and couldn’t reach a unanimous verdict.
Melly has pleaded not guilty and could face the death penalty if convicted.
