Rapper YNW Melly Hit With Additional Charges Amid Jury Selection Before Upcoming Re-Trial

FLORIDA – Rapper YNW Melly is now facing additional charges ahead of his double murder re-trial.

The state of Florida has charged the rapper with additional charges ahead of jury selection for his upcoming re-trial.

Melly is accused of directing the activities of a criminal gang, solicitation and conspiracy to commit tampering and unlawful use of a two-way communication device. These charges comes after he was recently charged with witness tampering, NBC Miami reported.

Melly’s co-defendant rapper Cortlen “YNW Bortlen” Henry and another defendant Terrence Mathis are also facing similar charges.

The charges were filed as the rapper appeared in court on Tuesday.

The recent charges come after lead prosecutor Assistant State Attorney Kristine Bradley, who’s been involved in the case for five years, was removed for prosecutorial misconduct.

Jury selection for the re-trial is expected to last several months.
