Rapper Yo Gotti’s Brother’s Funeral Held In Memphis With Heavy Security

MEMPHIS – Funeral service for rapper Yo Gotti’s brother Anthony “Big Jook” Mims was held on Memphis on Wednesday with heavy security.

Mims was fatally shot after attending a funeral earlier this month.

On Thursday, the Memphis Police Department said it provided only normal support for Mim’s funeral.

Heavily armed private security was provided by Yo Gotti due to the circumstances surrounding his brother’s death. There were reportedly 25 guards securing the area for the service.

Services were held at by New Direction Christian Church pastor Dr. Stacy L. Spencer.

There was a reading of a letter of condolence said to be from President Biden and his family. Yo Gotti met with First Lady Biden last year, and the rapper also attended a White House holiday event with his girlfriend Angela Simmons in December.

Mims was involved in Yo Gotti’s record label, The Collective Music Group, as he scouted new talent.

Mims was one of two victims who were shot multiple times on Jan. 13 outside of a restaurant. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The other male victim was placed in stable condition.

Police said the suspects fled the scene in a white SUV, and no arrests have been made. There have been no further updates.
