Rapper Yung Gravy is being sued by singer Rick Astley for allegedly using his voice in a song.
Astley claims that the rapper, whose real name is Matthew Raymond Hauri, ripped off his vocals from his 1987 hit song ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ by using an impersonated version of his voice, according to TMZ.
Astley is also suing the vocal impersonator, Nick Seeley.
The 56-year-old singer claims Gravy and his producers “conspired to include a deliberate and nearly indistinguishable imitation of Astley’s voice throughout the song,” which was released in June 2022.
Gravy did license the instrument part of Astley’s song, but the singer claims he did not give the rapper or anyone on his team permission to use or impersonate his voice, TMZ reported.
Astley is suing for Yung Gravy for millions.
