VIRGINIA- Police are searching for a woman they say left a bag in a dumpster allegedly containing human remains belonging to a baby.
Police say they responded to a report on Monday around 1:50 p.m. about the unidentified woman leaving the Planet Fitness backpack in a dumpster behind a store.
“A store employee checked the backpack, saw what appeared to be blood on it and called police.” “Officers on scene found what appeared to be human remains in the backpack”, according to a statement from police.
The remains were sent to a state lab, and a preliminary conclusion found that the remains may be a baby’s body but this finding hasn’t been confirmed by the medical examiner’s office, reports WTVR CBS 6.
Police have shared two stills from surveillance footage of the woman who was dressed in shorts and a T-shirt.
