Rod Wave Released From Jail After Cops Admit His Gun Charge Was An “Inaccurate” Arrest

FLORIDA – Rapper and singer Rod Wave was arrested on Wednesday and released after police admitted to wrongly arresting him.

The Florida artist, whose real name is Rodarius Marcell Green, was arrested and booked into the Manatee County Jail on two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition as a convicted felon, despite his lawyer saying he’s not.

Green was arrested days after a group of men opened fire outside of a bar in St. Petersburg.

The three men were all arrested, and Green was not listed as a shooter, according to a press conference that was held Wednesday.

But Green was arrested after two of his Florida properties were searched during the investigation.

Shockingly, police have now admitted that the charges against the rapper were a mistake. “He was arrested on a charge that was later determined not to be accurate, so he was released,” a spokesperson told the Tampa Bay Times.

He was released from jail on Thursday.

There is still an active investigation going.
