Sean Kingston And Mother Arrested On Fraud And Theft Charges After Raid At Home

CALIFORNIA – Singer Sean Kingston was arrested on fraud and theft charges after SWAT raided his South Florida mansion and his mother was arrested.

Kingston was arrested without incident on a Florida warrant in San Bernardino County Thursday. His arrest came hours after his detectives arrested his mother, Janice Turner, during the raid on his home in Fort Lauderdale.

His mother was also taken into custody on suspicion of fraud and theft.

Kingston’s attorney, Robert Rosenblatt, told NBC News, “We were in the process of having him return to Florida after his show,” he said. “We want him back asap so we can show this is merely a civil case and not criminal. We look forward to challenging this case in court.”

The singer took to his Instagram story Thursday before he was arrested, saying “People love negative energy! I am good, and so is my mother!.. My lawyers are handling everything as we speak.”

The raids and arrests were connected to a lawsuit filed against Kingston for allegedly not paying for luxury items that included watches, a custom-made bed and a TV.

His mother was arrested over alleged bank fraud and false loan applications.

The “Beautiful girls” singer will be held in San Bernardino pending his return to Florida.
