Sephora to close its doors on June 5 after singer SZA says she was profiled

Sephora will be closing their doors on June 5th for a diversity training workshop after singer SZA says she was profiled.

The store put the statement on their site.

The training will include employees from their stores, and cooperate as well.

On April 30th, SZA, whose real name is Solána Rowe, says she was shopping for FENTY  products at one of their stores in Calabasas when a female who she nicknamed “Sandy Sephora” on social media called security to make sure she wasn’t stealing.

SZA was even part of Rihanna’s campaign for FENTY.

Sephora apologized to the singer on Twitter, tweeting “You are a part of the Sephora family, and we are committed to ensuring every member of our community feels welcome and included at our stores, we want to let you know we take complaints like this very seriously and are actively working with our teams to address the situation immediately.”

After Rihanna heard about SZA being profiled, she sent her a gift card that included a note which read “Go buy yo’ Fenty Beauty in peace sis! One love, Rihanna.”
