GEORGIA- An investigation has been ordered by a Georgia Sheriff after a shocking video emerged, showing several guards beating, a black male detainee who was charged with assaulting THEM.
The video shows Camden County guards surrounding Jarret Hobbs, 41, before grabbing him by the face and neck as three guards help in holding him down before he’s seen being punched 20 times in his head by one guard, defenseless as he’s pinned down.
Two Sheriffs can also be seen throwing sucker punches at Hobbs.
The abuse didn’t stop there.
In a second video from a camera that’s outside of the cell, guards are seen dragging Hobbs through an open door and throwing him against a wall before he’s kneed.
According to The New York Post, Hobbs’ attorney Harry Daniels said, “This is a brutal beating, a brutal attack,” adding his client “was assaulted, punched multiple times in the back of his head, kneed in his head and dragged out of his cell.”
Sheriff Jim Proctor said that the footage only contained “a portion” of the Sept. 3 incident, but he will still “ordered an internal investigation of the incident to begin immediately,” reports The New York Post.
Hobbs was being held on drug possession charges.
He was then charged with aggravated battery, simple assault and obstruction of law enforcement officers.
