Singer Tina Turner has died at the age of 83.
The singer’s death was confirmed on her official Facebook page:
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner,” the statement read. “With her music and her boundless passion for life, he enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow. Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly.”
Turner, born Anna Mae Bullock, began performing at a young age before she dove into the rhythm and blues scene.
She changed her stage name to Tina Tuner in 1969 after meeting her then husband Ike Turner, who she would work with.
