FLORIDA- After a week of delays and circus, prosecutors on Monday rested their case in rapper YWW Melly’s double murder trial, granting the defense an opportunity to present its own witnesses.
The state wrapped up after Miramar Police Detective Mark Moretti’s testified, during which he presented an alleged confession that Melly allegedly sent on the day of the murders.
Defense attorneys are expected to begin calling witnesses on Tuesday morning.
The process could take about a week.
YNW Melly, whose real name is Jamell Demons, is accused of shooting his childhood friends and fellow rappers Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas Jr.
