Suspect Charged In Takeoff’s Death Allegedly Tried To Flee To Mexico Days Before Arrest, Report

HOUSTON- Two suspects have been charged in connection with rapper Takeoff’s murder.

One suspect, 33-year-old Patrick Xavier Clark, who was charged with murder, had his bond set to $2 million on December 3 during his first court appearance.

Prosecutors requested that Clark’s bond be set at $2 million, arguing that Clark poses a high flight risk because he had allegedly purchased tickets to Mexico just two days before he was arrested and charged, according to ABC News.

Houston police held a press conference on Dec. 2.  Sgt. Michael Burrow said there was a dice game at the event, which had about 40 attendees. At some point “there was an argument that happened afterwards outside of the bowling alley, which led to the shooting.”
Burrow insisted that Takeoff “was not involved in playing in the dice game.” He was not involved in playing the dice game. He was not armed. He was an innocent bystander.”
The second suspect, 22-year-old Cameron Joshua, also known as Lil Cam 5th, was charged on Nov. 30 “in connection with the case” but he is “not believed to have fired” his illegal handgun during the deadly shooting, according to the Houston Sheriff’s Office Harris County.
Takeoff, whose real name is Kirsnick Khari Ball, was shot and killed at a Houston bowling alley in front of his uncle, and Migos rapper Quavo. Takeoff died from a gunshot wound to the head and his torso.

Police say all those who attended fled the scene before they arrived to investigate. Using video surveillance, cellphone video and shooting reconstruction to confirm ballistic evidence.

Takeoff was laid to rest on in his hometown of Atlanta. His funeral service was held at the State Farm Arena on November 11.
