Suspect Charged In Tupac’s Murder Makes First Court Appearance

LAS VEGAS- The man accused of murder in connection to the deadly shooting of rapper Tupac made his first appearance in court on Tuesday.

Duane “Keefe D” Davis, 60, was charged last week in Tupac’s 1996 killing, but was not the triggerman, police said.

The formal arraignment was delayed, and Davis did not enter a plea to the charge of murder with a deadly weapon with the intent to promote, further or assist a criminal gang, according to the Las Vegas Journal.

Davis has bragged about his involvement in the rapper’s Las Vegas slaying in several interviews and in his book. He claims he was the “on-site commander” in the effort to kill Shakur and Death Row Records owner Marion “Suge” Knight for an assault on his nephew.

In Nevada, anyone who aids or abets a murder can be charged with the killing.

Shakur was killed in a drive-by shooting on the Las Vegas strip on September 7, 1996. He was 25.

Davis is the only suspect from the slaying that is alive, prosecutors said.
