Taco Bell employee charged after swinging machete at customer

TEXAS- 21-year-old Samuel Batiste Hemmit has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after a male customer says he went after him with an 18 inch machete.

The male customer says he was ordering his food at the drive-thru, when Hemmit couldn’t hear his order. According to The Austin American-Statesman, the customer replied to Hemmit ““Can you not hear?.”

It was then that Hemmit allegedly told the customer “Why don’t you pull up and I will show you what I have for you.”

When the customer did pull up to the order window, he says Hemmit was holding a a black machete and began cursing at him. The argument turned into Hemmit swinging at the customers truck twice, hitting a side mirror.

Video surveillance then shows the employee throwing the machete inside of a dumpster after the customer drives off.

Hemmit later admitted to police that he did swing the machete at the customer, which he retrieved from the stores break room. He’s currently in jail on a $15,ooo bond.
