GEORGIA- A 17-year-old boy is facing charges after he allegedly fatally shot his brother in an accidental shooting, police said.
The 17-year-old teen, identified as Xavier Hayes, is facing the murder charge after shooting his twin brother in the face on Monday, which police described as an “accidental” shooting, reports say, according to Fox5 Atlanta.
His brother Dimitri was rushed to a hospital where he died from his injuries.
Police told the news station that the twins were playing with a gun in their room at the time, not knowing the gun was loaded. The gun discharged, striking the brother in his face.
Hayes is currently being held in jail.
Xavier was charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of pistol or revolver by a person under 18 years old.
