Teen arrested after targeting men on Grindr in string of robberies

ATLANTA- A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after he allegedly targeted gay men on the dating app Grindr in a string of robberies.

T’andre Seals, 17, turned himself in on Monday after police put out warrants out for his arrest, Atlanta Police said in a news release.

Seals allegedly used the gay dating app Grindr to rob his victims in a string of robberies that began in February and ended in May, police say.

During a press conference on May 5, Sgt. Rodney Jones said that Seals used the app “to exchange and identify victims, trying to lure them to a dating location. After the date concludes, the suspect would then rob the victim, often taking wallet, keys, or even vehicles.”

Seals allegedly robbed eight men who were all brought to remote areas.

Police say Seals had a gun in all of the robberies.
