CALIFORNIA- A teen has been charged after allegedly assaulting a pet shop manager for a sick puppy, police said.
Surveillance footage shows the unidentified female teen suspect and the store’s manager, Rosa Muñoz, fighting on January 30, outside of the Planet Pet Shop.
Muñoz, who was trying to stop the teen from stealing the puppy named Baby Moon, was thrown on the floor by the teen outside of the pet store in broad daylight, according to Fox 11.
The teen is also seen pepper spraying Muñoz before she flees with the puppy.
Muñoz broke her hand during the attack.
The puppy was returned several days later, after someone noticed it inside of a shoebox left in front of the pet store.
Baby Moon was brought by Muñoz’ daughter a week before he was stolen. He was returned with his owner.
A woman that was seen casually walking by as Muñoz was being attacked seemed to allegedly be involved, police said.
The suspect’s name, or age hasn’t been released.
