FLORIDA- A teenager was arrested Thursday after bringing a loaded Glock 26 handgun on his High school campus, police say.
The 17-year-old student was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm on school property and grand theft of a firearm, reports the Miami Herald.
The assistant principal alerted other school officials that the teen had a gun.
The gun had one 9mm round in the chamber and “a drum style 9mm magazine with 39 rounds in it”, according to an arrest warrant obtained by the Miami Herald.
The teen suspect didn’t have a “consistent” story about how he obtained the firearm, and couldn’t provide ownership. He did tell police that he had the gun for protection.
