NYC- Police have arrested and charged a teen suspect accused of attacking a family riding the NYC subway while on vacation.
The 16-year-old teenage girl whose name must be withheld due to her age, turned herself in to police custody around 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday at the 6th Precinct in Manhattan, according to FOX News.
She was charged with two felony counts of assault, police said.
A passenger on the train recorded the incident, which shows the teen suspect antagonizing a 51-year-old woman by shouting profanity at her, as she sat with her terrified 11-year-old twin daughter’s and husband.
Two other teen girls can be seen battering the couple, and one can be seen becoming upset after noticing the incident was being recorded.
Sue Young, a retired doctor, claims the group of three girls began allegedly taunting them by pointing and laughing at them from across the subway train.
Young said when she began laughing it off with the teen girls, they became upset and began spewing insults at them and harassing the family before she was attacked, PIX 11 reports.
“The girl in the white T-Shirt…she started grabbing my hair. We were grabbing at each other,” she told PIX 11. “I buried my face to block at my daughter, saw them pin me to the ground, and that’s why I have all the bruises.”
It’s unclear if the other two teen girls seen in the video are being wanted by the NYPD.
