PHOENIX- A teenage boy shot an intruder who was attempting to break into his home Friday night, police said.
The suspect, Juan Saavedra, 35, was taken to a hospital before he was taken to jail, according to FOX 10 Phoenix.
Police said the shooting occurred around 10 p.m. when Saavedra allegedly broke into the home through a window and was confronted by the mother and son.
The teen boy shot Saavedra, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
After an investigation, it was determined that the teen was telling the truth and wasn’t going to be charged for the shooting due to self-defense.
Saavedra was booked into jail on a bond of $50,000.
