Teen Charged As Adult In Alleged Fatal Beating Of Elderly Man

PHILADELPHIA- A teen has been charged as adult after turning himself in to police custody for his alleged role in the deadly beating of an elderly man, police said.

Richard Jones, 14, has been charged with murder and criminal conspiracy in the death of 73-year-old James Lambert, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

Jones was caught on surveillance footage, along with 3 other boys and two girls on June 24, allegedly beating Lambert with a cone over his head until he fell to the ground where he was hit again by a girl.

Lambert died the following day from blunt force trauma.

Both Jones and his 10-year-old brother tuned themselves in to police. His younger brother was released.
